About Us
WHO WE ARE
Hi! We’re Zoë and Aztekoyotl, partners in life and co-founders of Xoco Kalli. Zoë comes from a background in community organizing and youth work, creating spaces where families and young people can belong. Aztekoyotl is an educator and traditional medicine man whose work is rooted in intergenerational learning and ceremony. We believe that community doesn’t happen by accident; it happens by design and by practice.
Xoco Kalli: House of Fruit
XOCO KALLI means House of Fruit. Fruit is nourishment, sweetness, and harvest. Like a fruit tree, XOCO KALLI offers shade and nourishment—a place where neighbors gather and ideas grow.

A place that feels like a shared home.
XOCO KALLI is a grassroots community centre in Acatitlán, Valle de Bravo, built to strengthen local culture, reduce isolation, and make community life easier to access – even as Valle continues to grow and change.
THE STORY
Valle de Bravo is changing quickly. Tourism brings opportunity – and pressure. As costs rise and neighborhoods shift, it becomes harder to sustain the spaces that hold culture, connection, and everyday belonging.
Â
Too often, community spaces depend on short-term grants or constant fundraising. When funding slows, programs disappear. Burnout follows.
XOCO KALLI is our response.
Â
We are building a warm, practical place where community is not an occasional event, but a weekly rhythm. A place where everyday purchases – like a cup of coffee – help keep local culture accessible and alive.
Spirit at the centre
XOCO KALLI is built with Spirit at its centre and it is woven into the foundation. That means that Care, respect, presence, and intention guide how we’ve built this place.
A way of being together intentionally
